30 Gallon Horizontal Balance Tank

62545 The balance tank defends the milkers from sudden drops in vacuum. Considering that one milker falling off can instantly draw 10 to 40 CFM , the balance tank is a crucial buffer for maintaining vacuum stability.
There are three types of balance tanks: stainless steel, galvanized steel and PVC. Stainless steel tanks will not rust, but are very expensive. A 40 gallon stainless steel balance tank costs over $800.00. Galvanized steel tanks are not expensive, but will rust. Rusted balance tanks are the most frequent cause of leaks in a vacuum system. Only PVC balance tanks are inexpensive and will not rust.
Molded end caps and extruded inlets cemented to a heavy wall body make our PVC balance tank strong. It is rated to withstand 29" Hg. of vacuum, twice the vacuum needed for milking and the top rating in the industry. The extruded inlets extend deep into the tank to eliminate cross currents of vacuum. And because it is not metal, a PVC tank will not vibrate; a quiet component to match Parts Dept.'s series of quiet vacuum pumps.

  • 30 Gallon Tank
  • 15" x 36"
  • Six 3" Inlets
  • 1 1/4" Drain Assembly Included
  • Ships UPS
